History

This website started out as a way for both community groups and Greensboro residents to become informed on the many progressive changes being made in the city.

Originally, this project began as a Senior Honors Project by Jessica Clifford in the Communication Studies Department. It had grown into an expansive year-long project incorporating community members that can be defined as activists and members of grassroots groups and nonprofits.

Specific people that guided this project's entire success was UNCG Communication Studies professor, Dr. Jovanovic, Anna Fesmire the leader for the Social Justice Roundtable at the League of Woman Voters, and Kathe Latham, one of many people who helped create the Peace & Justice Network - a website similar to this one. Each person added to this project by using their skills and resources - including Dr. Jovanovic's knowledge and status as a professor, Fesmire's already-made directory from the League of Woman Voters, and Latham's list of groups and experience with a similar project.

Many other unnamed community members made their mark on this project through their own hard work in the social justice field, their time, and their support.

Thank you to everyone who has assisted and those that will take part in the future. This website would not be a great resource without you.
